My son is 7 years old. When he was 5 he started having grand-mal seizures. We found a neurologist and started using Lamotrigine, which seemed to work. Unfortunately, he started to have petit-mal seizures as well about a year into it. We have not had much success with medicines. We've tried Keppra and Trileptal. Part of our problem is that some of these smaller seizures are triggered by hyperventilation, which started about a year ago as well. He likes to "puff" when he gets excited, and it makes him light-headed and causes the small seizures.

Has anyone gone thru something similar?
