| I am so excited and proud of Mary! We enrolled in an introductory swim class at the Y for ages 6mos to 3 yrs (Mary is 19 months). For the first time in her life, other parents are commenting to me about how well she swims! Most of the children in her class are having a hard time getting comfortable in the water, but Mary is laughing, blowing bubbles, kicking her legs and reaching for toys. After so many times where Mary has been the left behind in peer group settings, it is wonderful to see her excel physically. In the water she is truly happy and comfortable. |

That's so great. When Daniel was a baby he excelled at swimming as well, he actually swam on his own before he was ever able to walk, walking took longer for him. He was around 6months when he showed interest in really enjoying the water and by age 1 was almost completly on his own. Everyone to this day swears he's part fish. I hope Mary continues to enjoy it. _________________

I am glad to hear that swimming is a good option for other SMS kids! My son Zeke is 7, and I was planning on getting him and his older brother back to the pool this summer. I tried lessons with both kids back when Zeke was 3 and he did fine. We had a bad experience with lessons for his older brother, so we stopped all together with lessons. _________________ khill |

Swimming is a really good exercise for the kids...
Ben's program at school has the kids swim for 1 - 1.5 hours a week.
They get their swimming report at the end of each season.
We do try to get Ben & his brother & sister to the pool as often as possible on weekends &^ during the summer as well.
Good luck with the lessens, hope all goes well =)
