International donors: Your donations will be processed in United States Dollars (USD), but the charge to your PayPal account will be debited in your local currency. For each $1.00 raised for PRISMS $.90 goes directly back into programs! This is a testiment to the volunteers that make our conferences and on-going programs possible. PRISMS out performs almost every other charity in ensuring your membership dues and donations are used to provide information and support to SMS families, sponsor research, foster partnerships with professionals, and increase awareness and understanding of SMS.

PRISMS believes that philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. As a result, we have adopted the Donor Bill of Rights as developed by the American Association of Fund-Raising Counsel (AAFRC), Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and National Society of Fund-Raising Executives (NSFRE).


PRISMS receipt and public acknowledgement policy

Your cancelled check shall serve as your receipt for donations less than $100. A receipt will be sent for all donations of $100 or more, or upon request. The names of all contributors will be printed in our annual report, unless otherwise requested. The amounts of donations will not be disclosed. However, those who contribute more than $500 will be listed as major contributors. Memorial gifts will be printed in the annual report with no gift amounts given. Acknowledgement notices will be sent to the family that a tribute gift has been made.
